Pilgrim of Dead - Play'n Go

png_pilgrimofdead-en-US.png

Play’n Go has recently changed the book in their iconic Book of Dead into a tomb, and we can only assume it's for legal reasons. It must have been a tough decision, and it probably weighs heavy on their heart to take the book out of the equation like that. They’re not taking any chances with Pilgrim of Dead, as it comes with a tomb scatter/wild from the get-go.

The visual presentation is a tad darker than usual perhaps, but you get the ancient Egypt look nonetheless. The ‘Book of’ mechanic bonus round comes with a twist we haven’t really seen before, as you get sticky special expanding symbols on up to all 5 of the reels. The tradeoff is lower than usual symbol values, and only 5 initial free spins when the feature triggers. You can reject the first chosen symbol though, and the 10,000x potential is 2x what you usually get in this genre.

Games of Gladiators Uprising - Play'n Go

png_gameofgladiatorsuprising-en-US.png

It’s hard not to picture Russell Crowe in his unforgettable role as Maximus in Ridley Scott’s epic blockbuster from 2000 whenever the word ‘gladiator’ comes into view. Play’n Go have probably found some inspiration there as well, as you get to see battles between the emperor himself and another famous underdog, namely Spartacus. A female gladiator called Bellica is also included, and landing 2 gladiator wilds at the same time triggers the duel bonus round.

The 3 gladiators land on a regular basis as wilds in the base game, awarding respins with gladiator-specific modifiers. You get video game-inspired visuals, and the 2 caged gladiators in the background seem eager enough to have a go at each other. The medium volatility took us by surprise given the violent subject matter, but you can still win up to 6,000x your stake. The bonus round battle comes with random multipliers, and it’s a fight to the death feature.
