Rise of Olympus 100 Review
The core concepts of Play’n Go’s original success release, Moon Princess, have gone through a transformative journey and taken on several different forms. You have, of course, the revamped Moon Princess 100 installment, as well as the original Rise Of Olympus release. Rise of Olympus 100 is a beefed up version of the Greek gods installment, and it comes jam-packed with modifiers and features.
Players can now choose freely if they prefer either an estrogen overload or a testerone buffed release, as both the feature department and the math model are identical. You can look forward to plenty of cascading wins action, and 3 unique Hand of God modifiers can keep your winning streak going as you build the progressive win multiplier. Everything is enhanced in the bonus round, and the 15,000x potential triples what you get in the original.

Rise of Olympus 100 Slot Features
The premium Greek god symbols, consisting of Hades, Poseidon and Zeus, all pay 10x your stake, while a random mix of either of them awards 5x your stake. Winning symbols are removed via the Cascading mechanic, and 3-oak wins always spawn a wild symbol when removed. Wilds step in for pay symbols to help complete wins, and they pay 50x your stake for 5 on a payline. If nothing but wilds remain on the grid, they are removed as well.

The Win Multiplier increases by +1 per cascading win, and it can go as high as x100 in all stages of the game. The multiplier resets between base game spins though, and you win 50x your stake if you manage to clear the grid completely. This clear grid bonus payout is also boosted by the win multiplier you have achieved.

You always have 1 of the 3 gods by your side as you play, and they award unique modifiers at random times on non-winning spins only. The backdrop and god changes after each trigger, and here is an overview of what you can expect when the Hand of God feature triggers:

  • Hades - converts a symbol type into another symbol type.
  • Poseidon - gives you 1 or 2 wilds randomly placed on the grid.
  • Zeus - removes 2 symbol types from the reels.

The Wrath of Olympus Meter comes with 3 sections, and any win with the god symbols fills 1, 2 or 3 sections of the meter. You need to fill the meter completely in the same cascading sequence to trigger the Wrath of Olympus feature, and this makes all 3 gods take turns awarding their respective modifiers in the same round. If you clear the grid via these modifiers, you get the bonus round.

You get to pick one of the gods up front, before the Bonus Round starts, and Hades, Poseidon or Zeus give you 4, 5 or 8 free spins, respectively. The win multiplier never resets during the feature, but it’s still capped at x100. Fill the meter to get up to 100 extra spins, and the god modifier is triggered on every non-winning free spin. You can also retrigger the feature to get 2, 3 or 4 extra spins from Zeus, Poseidon and Hades, respectively.

When you land winners from the 3 god symbols in the game, the meter to the left of the reels is filled. When it is full, this bonus feature is triggered. Here’s how to fill the meter:

  • 3 matching symbols = 1 section is filled
  • 4 matching symbols = 2 sections are filled
  • 5 matching symbols = All 3 sections are filled

When all 3 sections are filled, all gods will perform their modifier in 1 game round as explained above in the Hand of God feature. If you manage to clear the grid during this bonus feature, the Free Spins feature is then awarded.

Review Summary
It was a smart move to make a masculine version of the cutesy Moon Princess in the first place, and Play’n Go has definitely reached a wider audience this way. Rise of Olympus 100 is a powerful revamped version of the original release, just like Moon Princess 100 is a beefed up version of the first game. However, with these two 100 versions, is there any use for the original games at all anymore?

That’s a question each player must answer for themselves, but we prefer Rise of Olympus 100 over the original by a long shot. It comes with a far more solid 15,000x potential, but the price you pay is a tad lower RTP values (96.2 instead of 96.5 % for the top-tier setting). There is plenty of action in all stages, and the cascading sequences can go on for a good while with a bit of help from the gods. If you enjoyed the original, you will probably love this 100 version.
